Response times

We will acknowledge receipt of your complaint within 2 working days (this may be via e-mail or in writing or by telephone depending on the circumstances).

We will aim to resolve any complaint as soon as possible (and ideally within 10 working days). If there is a delay in responding, we will keep you informed of our progress.

How might complaints be resolved?

Complaints may be resolved through conversation and clear communication. At other times we may recommend some specific action or change how we deal with matters in the future. Each situation will be considered depending on the circumstances, but our aim will be to find a resolution that is satisfactory to everyone.

Practical HR Terms of Business for Products and Material

These terms and conditions apply to the purchase of Products including Professional Templates, subscriptions and associated documentation relating to our First Line Support site and any online training courses. These terms do not apply to consultancy or legal representation services or YourHR.space. Fees associated with products are detailed on the website.

All prices quoted are excluding VAT. VAT, at the current rate, will be added to all invoices, as shown in the shopping basket prior to confirmation of purchase. Practical HR reserves the right to change or amend prices of any documents on the website without notice. The purchaser may purchase documents at the price currently shown on the website.

The purchaser may be provided with a log in and password to allow them access to the product.

Payment is generally made at the time of purchase by debit or credit card. Alternatively, payment can be made in advance to Practical HR. In the event that an existing client has a direct debit facility set up with Practical HR, payment can be made by direct debit and payment will be taken no less than 10 days following the purchase.

Due to the digital nature of services, no right of refund or cancellation exists after a document has been purchased, in accordance with Regulation 13 of the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000.

The purchaser should ensure that any information supplied is correct before confirming an order (or proceeding to payment where credit card payments are accepted). Practical HR does not accept responsibility or offer refunds if incorrect information is provided and Practical HR cannot accept responsibility for any errors made by the purchaser. Documents contained in products may be amended from time to time depending on changes in the law or recommended practice. Updated and new documents will be notified on the website.


Purchasers may not sell, pass-on or copy any product or documentation contained in the products (including policies, procedures, letters, contracts of employment, employee handbooks, forms, questionnaires) to any third party, either directly or indirectly, without the express written permission of Practical HR. The purchaser may not forward links to documents to any third party.


The documents available from the Practical HR website are based on current statutory requirements or general HR ‘best-practice’. No document is to be taken as an authoritative statement of law, and documents, guidance notes and other material can provide only general advice. If you require specific legal advice about an employment matter you should contact Practical HR and advice can be provided under our consultancy services.

Practical HR will not accept liability for loss or damage caused or alleged to be caused by use of Practical HR products.

Any situation arising with an employee may give rise to potential liability and/or the requirement to comply with current legislation or follow recognised procedures. Employers are advised to take advice on specific situations that may arise so that any particular circumstances can be taken into consideration.
